After being an eminent research professor at Sorbonne University, Paris, specialized in a diachronic and interdisciplinary approach of the Germanic languages, particularly focused on semantics, pragmatics and discourse analysis, Dr Yvon Desportes has been named in 1989 Dean for International academic relations at Montpellier Business School. In 2005, YD has been elected as President of the International Trade and finance Association and held the Presidential Address at the International Conference, Istambul, in 2005. YD has completed three terms as member of the Steering Committee of the Latin American Cladea, elected to represent the non-Latin American schools. YD is member of the Executive Committee of MBS.
As the Dean of International Affairs at Montpellier Business School, Prof. Desportes has been developing academic partnerships with universities from all over the world. As a result, Montpellier Business School is now cooperating with 187 international Universities (mainly accredited by AACSB, EQUIS, EPAS, AMBA) from 34 countries in Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Latin-American, Europe, South Africa and North America. Prof. Desportes’s priority today is to diversify the academic cooperation of MBS in USA, Canada, Australia as well as in China, India and Latin America, and to extend it to all spheres of academic activities.
