Dr. Matthias Staessens joined Montpellier Business School in 2022 as an assistant Professor of Social Entrepreneurship at department Management, Entrepreneurship & Strategy. He holds a PhD in Business Economics (KU Leuven, 2019). His research interests cover decision-making and performance of hybrid organisations, in particular cooperatives and social enterprises. Specifically, his work takes a behavioral and upper echelon perspective to understand how cooperatives and social enterprises manage the social-business tension within their organisation. His work has been published in Journal of Business Ethics, Academy of Management Perspective and Strategic Change.
