Dr. Syed Jawad Shahzad is Associate Professor of Finance and Head of Msc Fintech and Digital Finance in the Finance, Control and Law Department at Montpellier Business School, France. He has taught several graduate and undergraduate courses on subjects such as cryptocurrencies portfolio management, quantitative methods and decision theory, commodities investments and trading strategies, econometrics, and business statistics. His research interests are in the areas of Fintech, alternate investments, and applied financial econometrics, with a focus on cryptocurrencies, commodity markets and financial markets.
He has published more than 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is among the World's Top 2% Scientists List published by Stanford University. He has been named to Clarivate Analytics’ 2022 Highly Cited Researchers list in the field “Economics and Business”, and in the category of ‘Cross-Field’ (2021). His most cited work is on cryptocurrencies and energy finance.
He is Associate Editor of Energy Economics (ABS 3*) and International Journal of Finance and Economics (ABS 3*). He is also Guest Editor for several prestigious journals in his field such as the International Review of Financial Analysis, Financial Innovation, Resources Policy, Frontiers in Environmental Science, and SAGE Open. In addition, he has collaborated as Associate Editor with the Journal of Economic and Administrative Sciences (2019-2021). He has won two Global Peer Review Awards (Web of Science) for ‘Top Reviewer in Economics and Business’ (2019) and ‘Top Reviewer in Crossfield’ (2019).
