A look back at the conference given by Bastien Grandgeorge, CEO of Decathlon France and 2002 Alumni

MBS was honoured to welcome Bastien Grandgeorge, CEO of Decathlon France and 2002 MBS Alumni, for the first “Learn with companies” conference of the season.

The event was co-hosted by Dr. Paul Chiambaretto, Lecturer and Researcher at MBS, a specialist in corporate strategy and holder of the Chaire Pégase. Together, they discussed the changing world and its impact on the creation and deployment of corporate strategy.

Second-year students from the MBS Grande Ecole and MSc programmes, as well as students from the Lycée Notre-Dame de la Merci preparatory class and the Lycée Jules Guesde and Lycée Jean Monnet BTS in Montpellier, had the opportunity to discover the 5 pivots of strategic transformation, revealing the keys to success for Décathlon, a major partner of MBS, over the next decade.

This conference is part of the “Learn With Companies” series of conferences organised by the MBS Career Centre. The aim is clear: to help students identify the criteria that will define their career plans.

From shop manager to CEO, and with more than 10 years’ international experience under his belt, Bastien Grandgeorge also shared a valuable piece of advice for students looking for a work-study contract or first job: “Don’t choose a job in which you already have all the skills, choose missions that will enable you to develop new ones”.
