Equal opportunities: MBS creates the MBS Disability Scholarship, a new measure for social inclusion starting in September 2023

Equal opportunities: MBS creates the MBS Disability Scholarship, a new measure for social inclusion starting in September 2023

With the purpose of continuously improving its policy of social inclusion, MBS is creating the MBS Handicap Scholarship, a new financial support that will be available from the beginning of the September academic year to new students receiving CROUS scholarships and living with a disability.

AN EXTRA SOCIAL ASSISTANCE MEASURE TO SUPPORT MBS’ AMBITION TO EMBODY THE POWER OF INCLUSION

CROUS scholarship applicants with an administrative recognition of disability (RQTH) will be able to apply for a new scholarship at MBS starting in September 2023. The MBS Handicap Scholarship will be deducted from their tuition fees: €5,000 for new students admitted to the 1st and 2nd year of the Grande Ecole Programme, €3,500 for new students admitted to the 1st year of the BIBA Programme.

This new scholarship completes the list of scholarships available at MBS to guarantee the social openness of the Grandes Ecoles. “MBS wishes to embody the power of inclusion by combining academic excellence, recently underlined by the renewal of its EQUIS accreditation and its 2nd rank in the ChangeNow rankings of Les Echos Start.” explains Bruno Ducasse, Managing Director of MBS.

The school’s equal opportunities policy is made possible by its position as a pioneer in apprenticeship programmes, with more than 1,600 apprentices in 2022. It is also supported by more than 120 scholarships provided each year by MBS and by various financial support tools such as interest-free loans, mentoring and work-study jobs.

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL INTEGRATION

As a member of the second disability charter of the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles, MBS aims to guarantee total physical accessibility on campus, with, for example, the TWAVOX system enabling students with hearing disabilities to follow courses in an optimal manner, or the introduction of LEVELTEL certification, a test that evaluates a candidate’s ability to interact in another language, better adapted to DYS disorders.

Students with disabilities have the opportunity to be supported by a dedicated referent throughout the programme, in order to ensure that the course is properly adapted. In terms of professionalization, specific recruitment forums facilitate the integration of students and young graduates with disabilities into the job market.

Finally, MBS’s commitment is also reflected in the awareness-raising of all audiences, with the organisation each year of days dedicated to information and cohesion: the Handivalides days, which enable all MBS students and employees to understand the challenges of inclusion for all forms of disability.
