Equal opportunities: discover the 23 new MBS Foundation scholarship holders

On Thursday 2 February, the 15th Scholarship Award Ceremony of the MBS Foundation took place in Midi Libre, where the 23 new scholarship holders had the opportunity to share their ambitions with corporate and alumni sponsors.

Since 2007, 16 million euros of financial aid have been distributed within the framework of MBS’s social policy, including 2.5 million euros directly granted by the Foundation and its sponsors.

Lifting the social barriers of the Grandes Ecoles to strengthen diversity within companies.

Recently ranked 11th in the Rankings of “l’Etudiant”, MBS stands out for its ongoing commitment to inclusion, diversity and equal opportunities. MBS is a pioneer in combined work/study programs with more than 1,600 students whose tuition fees are paid by companies. Each year, MBS develops new programs that allow students to partially or totally finance their studies.

“The French business schools have a central role to play in allowing a greater diversity of managers in companies. To achieve this goal, they must open up their classes, and this can only be done by working to reduce social and financial barriers so that selection is based solely on academic quality,” explains Bruno Ducasse, Managing Director of MBS.

Today, a wide range of scholarships has been set up to meet the different situations and social criteria of students with Excellence scholarships, international scholarships, App’titude scholarships reserved for apprentices, disability scholarships and scholarships offered by employees and alumni. At the same time, other complementary financial aid measures reinforce the policy of social inclusion, such as monitoring and honour loans.

Back to the 15th Scholarship Award Ceremony

For this 15th Scholarship Award Ceremony held in the offices of Midi Libre, 23 new scholarship holders from the Excellence, Alumni, Collaborator and International Scholarships had the opportunity to go on stage to share their emotions and their ambitions.

“This scholarship is not only a financial support, but it is also a symbol of trust, a fundamental support to realise my professional project in entrepreneurship and event management” says Chams-Eddoha, winner of the Alumni Scholarship.

“This opportunity is a testimony of the power of a community that gets involved” explains Thalia, winner of the Excellence scholarship. “We will all have different jobs, but it is this value of solidarity that we all have in common,” adds Cheick, also winner of the Excellence scholarship.

For the corporate sponsors and members of the Foundation, this meeting was also an opportunity to remind them that their actions have recently diversified. “Even if the social policy axis remains historically an essential and priority pillar, the social object of the MBS Foundation has been extended to support the research chairs developed at MBS on the themes of CSR and Sustainable Development, or to support projects related to Responsible Entrepreneurship” concludes Anne-Valérie Crespo-Febvay – President of the MBS Foundation.
