AIMS 2018 conference
Organised jointly by Montpellier Business School and the Montpellier Management Institute (MOMA), the 27th edition of the annual conference AIMS (Association Internationale de Management Stratégique “International Association of Strategic Management”) took place from 6 to 8 June at the University of Montpellier (conference, round tables, sessions…) and at Montpellier Business School premises for the doctoral seminar.
With over 270 participants, AIMS 2018 was inaugurated with a lecture by Professor Henry Chesbrough, inventor of the Open Innovation concept who came especially from the prestigious University of Berkeley in California.
Teacher-researcher at Montpellier Business School and member of the local AIMS organising and scientific committees, Dr Paul Chiambaretto looks back on the event: “The AIMS conference is the annual meeting place for all French-speaking researchers in strategic management. This conference is hosted in a different city each year and Montpellier, as France’s 2nd laboratory in strategic management, had to host it in turn because the last time was in 2000. The challenge for Montpellier Business School was to gain visibility in this area by highlighting our local know-how and expertise. Montpellier Business School teacher-researchers have been involved on a priority basis in the doctoral workshop which was held in our own premises, but also took place outside the school for the rest of the conference. They played a key role during 3 days and were able to exchange with this community in which they play a major part”.
