MBS Research achieves historic results with 45 accepted rank 1 publications in the last academic year

On August 15, MBS research was distinguished by joining the top 1000 research-producing higher education institutions according to the prestigious Shanghai Ranking, making MBS the first and only French management school to be ranked individually.

The Faculty Workshop, which brought together the entire faculty, was an opportunity to take a look at the school’s research performance and to share the latest pedagogical innovations. A key figure marks this historical report: MBS professors are at the source this year of 45 research articles of rank 1, i.e. the management science journals whose scientific quality is the most demanding.

MBS Research continues to progress

With 45 accepted rank 1 publications, which means 24 more than last year, 76 rank 2 publications (+13), 64 rank 3 articles (+1) and 10 rank 4 articles (+4), MBS research is progressing in all levels of excellence.

“This significant progression is the result of a collaborative research policy, driven by the sharing of best practices and methodologies among experts. Across the four teaching departments, 23 faculty members who have recently joined MBS or have been at MBS for years have managed to meet the demanding scientific standards of a rank 1 journal” explains Dr. Jonathan Luffarelli, Director of Research.

Among these publications, we find works directly related to the DNA of MBS: CSR, sustainable development and responsible economic transformation of companies, with, for example, an analysis of the performance of green supply chain by Dr. Issam Laguir, or the correlation between the game in the company and the feeling of psychological safety of employees by Dr. Jinia Mukerjee.

Pedagogical innovation at the heart of this Faculty Workshop

These excellent research results directly contribute to the content of the courses and the Faculty Workshop was an opportunity to share and reward the innovative pedagogical methods for which students have the highest satisfaction and learning rates.

Among the most popular learning methods, we find courses based on a playful and immersive experience, such as the Leadership through the Lord of the Rings course by Dr. Philippe Villemus, the escape games to learn the main managerial concepts imagined by Beverly Leligois, or the board game by Dr. Thi Hong Van Hoang to understand green finance.

In total, 18 prizes were awarded, committing to continue the progression and development of research and educational innovations at MBS.
