MBS obtains the DD&RS label: an additional indicator that validates the school’s ambition to work towards social and environmental transition.

On Friday, May 13, Montpellier Business School was certified DDRS for four years. This new recognition of MBS’s social and environmental commitment validates the concrete actions already deployed by the school, its committed and inclusive strategic plan, and guarantees continuous improvement on these crucial subjects in preparation for its future eco-campus 2025.

WHAT IS THE DD&RS LABEL – SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY – FOR HIGHER EDUCATION?

Based on a common national reference framework, the SD&RS label evaluates and promotes the actions taken by French higher education and research institutions in the area of sustainable development and social responsibility.

It enables institutions to increase their skills in the five areas that make up the audit:

  • Strategy & governance
  • Education & training
  • Research and innovation
  • Environment
  • Social policy

WHAT ARE THE STRENGTHS OF MBS FOLLOWING THE AUDIT?

At the end of their evaluation, the auditors identified two major strengths in which MBS stands out. First, its 2020-2025 strategic plan develops a collaborative approach to shape the development of the school and its programs around the challenges of transition.

The Diversity and Inclusion Lab, the Sustainability Lab and the five MBS Chairs help to shape the content of the courses by integrating CSR expertise as a common thread throughout the curriculum. “In concrete terms, this means reforming the Grande Ecole Program in 2021 by strengthening the courses dedicated to the managerial challenges of social and environmental transition and setting up new teaching methods, in particular the ODD Challenge Hackathon, the Responsible Leadership seminar, the redesign of Start-Up Week and the creation of an “Act for Change” Excellence program,” explains Dr. Cédrine Joly, Director of the Grande Ecole Program.

A pioneer in terms of accessibility to work-study programs, MBS has also been congratulated for its social policy. As the first Grande Ecole to obtain the AFNOR Professional Equality and Diversity labels, MBS deploys a wide range of measures to enable all talents to train in a Grande Ecole. “Since 2007, 16 million euros in financial aid and scholarships have been distributed as part of the social policy, supported by the MBS Foundation – Committed to making a difference,” explains Benjamin Ferran, CSR and Sustainable Development Manager.

A GUIDELINE FOR THE ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT OF THE FUTURE ECO-CAMPUS

“By participating in future audits of other higher education institutions or by following the 78 criteria of its annual self-assessment, MBS is entering into a process of continuous improvement on societal and environmental dimensions,” explains Amélie Dubreuil, CSR & Alumni 2022 Project Manager.

“Obtaining the DD&RS label is an additional recognition of the DNA of MBS and reinforces our guideline to ensure the monitoring of the criteria of good environmental management of the future eco-campus,” concludes Bruno Ducasse, General Manager of MBS.
