Dr. Pasiouras Fotios

Dr Fotios Pasiouras joined Montpellier Business School as Full Professor of Banking and Finance in September 2018. He is also the Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Financial Engineering and Banking Society, one of the Editors-in-Chief of the International Journal of Banking, Accounting and Finance, Subject Editor of the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, Associate Editor of the Journal of Financial Stability. He has held faculty positions at U.K. universities (Bath, Surrey, Portsmouth) and Greek universities (Technical University of Crete, Hellenic Open University). He has been a Visiting Professor at the University of Portsmouth (Faculty of Business & Law), a Visiting Research Fellow/Scholar at European & U.S. universities and he has served as Co-Coordinator of the EURO Working Group on Efficiency & Productivity Analysis (European Operational Research Society), Co-Director of the Centre for Money, Banking and Institutions (University of Surrey), Co-Director of Research at the Financial Engineering Laboratory (Technical University of Crete), Subject Editor of the Emerging Markets Review (Elsevier). His biography has appeared in the “Marquis Who’s Who in the World”, while his research has received awards from the University of Bath School of Management (2008), Coventry University (2005), and Emerald Publishing (2008, 2009). His name has appeared in various lists, consistently ranking him in the top 1.5% authors worldwide in social sciences (SSRN), Top 4% Authors in Economics -based on research publication over the last 10 years (IDEAS/RePEc), “Top Young Economists” (IDEAS/RePEc), Top 2% scientists worldwide (Baas - Boyack - Ioannidis ranking), etc. His research focuses on risk, performance, corporate governance and regulations in the financial industry. It has appeared in more than 85 papers published in well-known international journals including: Management Science; Journal of Money, Credit & Banking; Journal of Banking & Finance; European Journal of Operational Research; Journal of Business Ethics; British Journal of Management, Journal of Financial Stability, etc. According to Scopus his work has received over 2800 citations (excluding self-citations of all authors) and has an h-index of 24. Google Scholar gives over 9000 citations to his work and an h-index of 42.
