Short bio
Dr. Wim van Lent is an Assistant Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at Montpellier Business School. He received his PhD in Management from ESSEC Business School in 2014. His research interests lie at the intersection of strategy, sociology, and economic history and center on the institutionalization of core management practices in early capitalism. His current empirical context is the Dutch East India Company (1602-1795) and his ongoing projects touch upon the role of power in the payout of dividends, the relationship between the institutionalization of financial leverage and market-making and the effect of social networks on venturing behavior, among other things.
