Microsoft, Adobe, Gapsmoov, Climate Fresque and gamification: focus on the latest pedagogical innovations of MBS

To achieve its mission of training future managers committed to the digital and ecological transition and to inclusion, MBS has implemented a wide range of pedagogical innovations this year to enable students to develop the skills needed to meet the new demands of the job market.


A year ago, the school launched a new teaching unit enabling students in the Grande Ecole and Masters of Science programs to develop a solid base of skills in low-code and to train for the Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals exam. “The goal is for graduates who have completed the certification courses to be able to support the digital transition of their department in a company or to help it become more digital,” explains Dr. Cédrine Joly, Director of the Grande Ecole Program.

Another example of pedagogical collaboration with a digital expert: the deployment of a cross-disciplinary training course on the Creative Cloud software in partnership with Adobe. “The choice to develop such a teaching module is based on the daily need for marketing students to use these creative tools during their internships and apprenticeship programs,” explains Dr. Franck Celhay, the researcher in charge of the teaching project.



From awareness to action, students are trained throughout the curriculum in the challenges of societal and environmental transition. “After being trained in the Climate Fresque, students can act and confront their solutions to achieve the goals of Sustainable Development with a panel of experts during the ODD Challenge,” explains Dr. Helen Etchanchu, Head of MBS COAST Chair.

The students then have the opportunity to go further with the “International Entrepreneurship” seminar, during which they imagine an international startup concept with a responsible dimension.To complete this triptych of pedagogical devices, the final year students took part this year in the “Responsible and Complex Leadership” Business Game, a realistic and progressive simulation during which the students see their company evolve and adapt to the internal and external hazards generated by their choices.

Finally, for those who have chosen the Management of Ecological and Solidarity Transformation Projects specialization, a low-tech journey to the heart of eco-places responds to this new generation’s quest for meaning.



The gamification of lessons have become essential practices to meet the expectations of new learners. “To train students in intercultural management, we have put in place several features. First of all, they have the opportunity to explore more than 90 professional situations involving more than 50 countries in issues related to cultural differences thanks to the Gapsmoov platform,” explains Beverly Leligois, Director of the MSc International Business.

“By relying on the skills of the MBS Learning Center, we have also developed our own tools about the diversity and inclusion game, which allows students to open up and reveal their cultural background to others through a tailor-made puzzle,” adds Beverly Leligois.

Another educational concept made in MBS: the creation of an Escape Game for students and professionals, created in partnership with the Transition Campus team. The aim of the game is to help participants discover the six doors that lead to the different approaches to transition and to remove, one by one, the mental barriers that may prevent them from getting involved. “The game allows for better retention of concepts and evolves as students use it. This is what makes it a valuable teaching tool,” concludes Beverly Leligois.
