COVID prompted many people to consider and review their life and career paths. I wasn't the only one. I have worked as a marketing professional internationally for the last 20 years. However marketing has changed rapidly over the last few decades, and is now truly, a data-informed science. My ability to maintain relevance as a career professional depends on my ability to continue to learn, to work with and make sense of large scale data, and to investigate problems through statistical analysis and research design which allow me to solve problems and have a greater impact of my work.
I place great value on working internationally, and knew I wanted to attend a school that had an international ethos. The Faculty at MBS reflect the diversity and international values that I felt were critical for a meaningful, academic experience today.

My cohort is from all around the world: we convene once a month to participate in the taught portion of the program. I find the opportunity to meet, exchange ideas and learn from people based around the world to be super exciting and stimulating, even though it's a bit of a logistical challenge! The structure of the program also allows me to balance the demands of work and family in a manageable and supportive way. I certainly look forward to completing the next few courses in the program and focussing on my research project. It will be an exciting few years ahead!
