For the 7th consecutive year, Montpellier Business School organised the Odyssey of Diversity with 250 college students from its ‘Cordées de la Réussite’ programme

 

This 7th Odyssey of the Diversity was held on Thursday 20 April with 250 college students from partner institutions of our ‘Cordées de la Réussite’ programme, supervised by 200 MBS student volunteers. Thanks to the diversity of the actors and partners of the event, this activity once again combined the sense of the collective, sport, general culture and round tables.

The ‘Cordées de la Réussite’ is a programme that promotes access to higher education for young people, regardless of their socio-cultural background. The goal is, therefore, to give them the keys to successfully engage in excellence. So, it is with this purpose in mind, that Montpellier Business School is part of this initiative, under the authority of the Rector of the Academy and why it organised this 7th Odyssey of the Diversity on Thursday 20 April.

For this 2017 edition, five schools were represented with about 250 college pupils from the Arthur Rimbaud, les Escholiers de la Mosson, Les Garrigues, Fontcarrade and Simone Veil colleges, as well as their teachers. During this united and dynamic encounter, there were many enjoyable sporting and cultural activities, including giant table football, wall of champions, sumo, archery, target football, blind man’s bluff or even the great quiz stands. As for the roundtables, the college pupils were able to meet MBS students from different programmes, including international ones, to exchange on different themes, including "Higher education, why not me?" The event concluded with a prize-giving ceremony in the large amphitheatre of Montpellier Business School in the presence of Mr Didier Jourdan, Dean of MBS, followed by a giant picnic in the wooded park of the campus.

"All MBS teams were geared up for this big event," says Benjamin Ferran, project leader and head of the social openness and student initiatives section for MBS."This intellectual and sporting event that mixes college pupils, academic advisors, staff, teachers and students from Montpellier BS lets the college pupils discover the existence of excellent tutelage. This day is part of our mission to promote diversity and equal opportunities! These are our values!"

In fact, the Odyssey of the Diversity is a get-together whose priority is to inform Year 3 college pupils of the existence of excellent tutelage. These support measures for students from Years 4 to 7 are run by Montpellier Business School students throughout the year and focus on introducing all the Academy’s courses, the range of accessible occupations and assistance with the internship searches. In short, it is a real discovery of the fields of higher education!
