Cassandre Joly apprentice at the Environment and Sustainable Development Division of Air France

Cassandre, 24 years old, is a student who always knew what she wanted in life! Through her commitment in associations and in every aspect of her studies at Montpellier BS, she has gradually built a professional project with one single goal: to work for the collective well-being of individuals! Her goal? Establishing sustainable development policies in the Supply Chain. She is doing her final year as an apprentice at Air France, and is fully involved in her projects.

Sustainable development has become Cassandra’s passion during her two-years diploma in logistics, in Toulouse. When she was in her first year at Montpellier BS, she created and was the president of the association, Gaia (a student association that promotes sustainable development). After her academic year abroad in Puebla, Mexico, her internship in Tlaxcala gave her the opportunity to work for a Rural Development Agency in agroecology. During her business year, she joined the company Enercoop, which is a cooperative that uses 100% renewable energies. She finishes now her programme as an apprentice at the Environment and Sustainable Development Division of Air France.

« When I have an idea, I never give up on it ! », said Cassandra. « At Air France’s headquarters in Roissy Charles de Gaulle, I am responsible for a mission that concerns the project “Lab'line for the future”. Our goal is to imagine new innovative services for our passengers. For one year, one flight per week between Toulouse and Orly was done with biofuel, this project was completed last month. After overseeing this project, my team and I are looking to get feedbacks from all stakeholders. I am in charge of the feedback from project managers, pilots, researchers that worked in the incubator and start-ups. Most people do not expect to see the birth of a sustainable development project at Air France, and yet it is an airline that is highly committed to CSR! Air France is part of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index and is the first in the "Airline" category since 11 years and the first position in the "Transport" category since 7 years! »

Cassandra also participates in the writing of the Sustainable Development Report of Air France-KLM, which annually presents the strategy and the Group's CSR activities. « I am currently working on the 2015 version which will be totally different from the past editions! I am very pleased to participate in all these projects, and Air France is a very nice company to work in. The atmosphere is great, it is a dynamic company that recruits and trains many young interns and apprentices! I would like to thank all the teams and my manager with whom I worked until the end of my degree! After we'll see ... », she said.

Cassandra is clear with her objectives, she wants to work in a field related to sustainable development. She now focuses on her specialization and on her thesis: "Green Supply Chain: How do companies integrate the problem of waste in their supply chain? ".
