On 9 and 10 July Montpellier Business School will welcome the world experts in management innovation!

On 9 and 10 July, by using its strategic position, Montpellier Business School will be organising a themed EURAM (European Academy of Management) conference on management innovation “Management innovation: new borders for a new concept”. On this occasion, the school will have the honour and pleasure of welcoming the professors F. DAMANPOUR J BIRKINSHAW AND H. VOLBERDA.

Professor F. DAMANPOUR is the President of the Management and Global Business Department of the Rutgers Business School (USA) Professor F. DAMANPOUR produced seminal scientific articles on organisational innovation during the 1980s and as such can be considered as one of the pioneers and founders of the field of management innovation.

Professor J. BIRKINSHAW is the Chair of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the London Business School. He has contributed to renewing scientific thinking on the concept of management innovation through numerous academic publications and giving this concept a global scope. Professor J. BIRKINSHAW has been ranked 39th in the latest “Thinkers50” list of the top global management thinkers.

Professor H. VOLBERDA
manages INSCOPE, a consortium of research on innovation, bringing together the ERASMUS Universities of Maastricht and Twente in the Netherlands. He has published numerous articles on innovation and in particular on management innovation which makes him a renowned European specialist in this field.

All of the researchers, as well as the economic players, now agree to consider innovation as a source of competitive edge and major development for businesses. However numerous studies (Morand-Manceau report, 2009) demonstrate that half of the innovations put in place in France and Europe do not include any technological dimension. As such, the beliefs of these thinkers and pioneers of management innovation will present the opportunity of enriching the cognitive capital which we have on management innovation, as part of the continuation of the work of Montpellier Business School on the subject, in particular through the collective works coordinated by F. Le ROY and A. JAOUEN (2013)

Through this event, Montpellier Business School will confirm its presence within the concept of management innovation. It will show its commitment to distribute, beyond the scientific community, the know-how and available knowledge on this subject to all the players (businesses, public authorities or organisations) who may be interested in this type of innovation.
