Montpellier Business School brings its students and local companies together! An unprecedented “internship dating” session on 17 April


In 2014, 52 % of 1st year students conducted their internship in the region. Montpellier Business School wants to exceed this figure and organised the 1st “internship dating” session on 17 April 2015, to bring together its students looking for internships and local businesses. Nearly 80 companies from Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole and the region responded to this invitation.

“Our students come from all regions of France and the world. If the attractiveness of the city and the school’s renown are key criteria in their choice of higher education, it is nonetheless true that they still remain far removed from the economic reality of this region. But our economic fabric has regular and ongoing needs and recognises the relevance of the training and qualities of our students. Our graduates make no mistake about this either. More than 1,500 of them participate in the economic life of our region. It is for all these reasons that we decided to come together even closer!”, states Morgane Pailhès, internship service manager.

Once again this year, nearly 400 students from Montpellier Business School’s Bachelor’s and Master’s courses, are looking for an internship of between 2 and 6 months as part of their studies. If the majority makes extensive use of job boards and unsolicited applications, often returning to their home areas, others however, are more comfortable in a face-to-face situation that allows them to more easily demonstrate their personality and motivation. They also look very favourably upon them being able to enjoy Montpellier’s quality of life. Almost 80 companies with the all of their offers will be present at this first “internship dating” session.
All sectors are represented (audit/consulting, banking/finance, retail, energy, IT, media, services/transport, leisure). A special book of offers has been created and sent to the students who have booked appointments! They will have 10 minutes to convince.

“Actually, we combine two exercises into one and wish to make this moment one of genuine and friendly sharing. Our aim is also to provide, as a priority, the skills of our students to the local economic forces. The experience of mutual understanding is a new step that brings together all the support work from Montpellier Business School’s teachers and coaches to prepare these students for entry into the professional world. A happy intern knows how to highlight his/her experience; s/he is also a vector of economic impact”.
