Mission accomplished for the 13th IECER Conference in Montpellier

The 13th edition of the Interdisciplinary European Conference on Entrepreneurship Research (IECER), one of Europe’s most prestigious conferences in the field of Entrepreneurship, was held between 25th February and 27th February on the campus of Montpellier Business School.

Organised by Dr Frank Lasch, Associate Director of Research at Montpellier Business School and Dr Kerstin Wagner (HTW Chur University, Switzerland) with the support of the LABEX Entrepreneurship & Innovation chair and Montpellier Research in Management (MRM), it physically brought together 50 participants from more than a dozen countries on the subject of Entrepreneurship and digital age - towards a new way of venturing.

Inaugurated by one of the most famous experts in entrepreneurship, Professor David Audretsch, this three-day high-quality scientific forum on the subject of creating businesses was a place for discussing various topics such as crowdfunding, entrepreneurship teaching and training, support and incubation, and the performance and competitiveness of new businesses.

The award for the best “communication” went to three researchers from the University of Lisbon, Dr Madeira, Dr Mendonça and Dr Torres for “Business owners’ educational skills and entrepreneurial teams on workers wages: the role of business owners gender”. Soon, the International Journal of Entrepreneurship & Small Business review will publish the best contributions from the 2015 IECER.

In addition, all of these international researchers also had the pleasure of being received by Mrs Hélène Giral, the Vice-President in charge of economic development in the Languedoc-Roussillon region in the Regional Offices, who was able to present, in an extremely operational manner, the Region’s actions for the economic development of the companies in its territory. There is no doubt that Montpellier and its region are rooted in their memories!
